Description: Dr. Bamberger will present on how the healthcare system can invest in housing to improve outcome for people living with homelessness, mental illness and chronic medical conditions. Examples from a 9 community study will be highlighted.

Joshua Bamberger, MD, MPH has been working for the city of San Francisco since 1991. During his time with the city, Dr. Bamberger coordinated all medical and behavioral health services at the health department’s supportive housing programs. In 2012 he was a Special Advisor to the Executive Director of the United States Interagency on Homelessness. He is an attending physician at the Downtown VA health clinic and is the Chief Medical Consultant for Mercy Housing. Dr. Bamberger is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, UCSF.
